Strandherd Medical staff and physicians understand the challenges of waiting for a physician while feeling unwell or taking care of someone who is unwell. While we strive our best to keep to schedule, sometimes wait-times are not entirely in our control. We thank you for your understanding and patience.
Q: Why is the wait-time so long?
A: Strandherd Medical is one the few walk in clinics open in the area, especially on evenings and weekends. As a result, we serve a large volume of patients and long wait-times are to be expected.
Q: Can I get an estimated wait-time?
A: Each appointment time with the physician varies according to our patients' needs - therefore, it is difficult to predict an estimated wait-time with accuracy. For this reason, you may not receive an estimated wait-time from staff or you may have to wait longer than the initial estimate.
Q: What can I do while waiting?
A: Many of our patients leave the clinic to run errands or other tasks while waiting for their turn. If you decide to leave the clinic, please let the staff know approximately when you will be coming back. Please note, if you leave for a long period of time and miss your turn, your name may be moved to the bottom of the waiting list. Please do not call the clinic to ask for your wait-time as the call lines are busy.
Q: Why has the clinic stopped registration even when the closing time is not until later?
A: Our clinic serves a large volume of patients and walk-in registration slots fill quickly. We can only accept as many patients as the physician will be able to see before closing time. Therefore, we advise you to come to clinic at least a few hours before closing time to register your name for walk-in. During COVID, please call the clinic instead of coming in person. Due to patient volume, our call line may be busy - if this occurs, please try again.
Q: Why are the clinic hours sometimes different than the hours listed online?
A: Clinic registration may close a few hours before official clinic closing time if the walk-in list is full. We can only accept as many patients as the physician will be able to see before closing time.
Hours may also vary according to physician availability.
